The charity run in aid Bru Columbanas this June is looking to be a popular choice for bikers in Tipp as John Redfern has asked us to mention that accommodation is being rapidly booked up. There will be a benefit night for Brendan Merrigan Racing of Tipperary on the 16th June. The event is being held in memory of Austin Donaghue who is the sadly missed engine builder and tuner to many racers in Ireland.

The Irish TT legends , Philip McCallan, Eddie Laycock, and Con Law will be at the Skerries Saling club on 11th May to chat about their TT racing exploits. Between them they have 15 wins and 28 podiums plus a wealth of experience and stories of competing in the worlds greatest road race.
Tickets are €10 and proceeds raised will go to help the Irish privateers entering this years event including local sidecar combo Mike Donavan/Aaron Galligan, Alan Connor, Alan Bonner and Brian McCormack. The weekend of the 30th June/1st July sees the inaugural Five Counties run in aid of Bru Columbanus, an organisation that provides accommodation for the relatives of those who are staying in Cork Hospitals. The ride itself takes in The Vee, Cork and Skibbereen with an overnight stay in Kenmare before doing the Ring of Kerry and returning to Tipp town via Co Limerick. The annual Purple Rose Bike Run in aid of Cystic Fibrosis research and treatment will take place on the 26 and 27th of May with Bundoran, Co Donegal once again being the destination for the weekend. Last year proved to a superb ride up through the Midlands and into the North and followed by a good night’s entertainment with Billy Bunn who has yet again been collared for 2012. Steve, Jack and Eddie would like to give a big thank you to all those who turned up at the recording of Tipp FM’s Down Your Way on Wednesday night. It turned out to be a great evening with some 30 bikes plus many more in cars turning up for the music and craic. It will be broadcast Thursday 4th April at 8-9pm and Saturday 8th 10-11am.
